The Michigan Center for Early Christian Studies (MCECS) is working to bring the study of Christian origins and Christian antiquity into the center of higher education and intellectual discourse.

Anterior Wall Infarction [top] May 2026

1. Definition and Anatomy Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction is a type of ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) caused by acute occlusion of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery . The LAD supplies a large territory: the anterior wall of the left ventricle, the anterior interventricular septum, the apex, and often the anterolateral papillary muscle.

| Leads Involved | Territory | Key ECG Features | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | V1–V2 | Septal | ST elevation, Q waves (septal Q waves are pathologic here) | | V3–V4 | Anterior | Most sensitive leads for anterior STEMI | | V5–V6, I, aVL | Apical / Anterolateral | Extension to lateral wall suggests proximal LAD or large diagonal branch | anterior wall infarction
