Antivirus [cracked] Free — Bit
Then came a knock at the door. A slick young man in a hoodie stood there—Jet, from the Grayridge Cyber Safety Initiative (a fancy name for a kid who sold annual antivirus plans to seniors).
And every time a big antivirus company called to threaten him with “end-of-support,” Bit would quietly display a single message on his screen: bit antivirus free
“Mr. Tuttle! I detected a malware outbreak from this location. You need our Platinum Shield Suite—only $99/year. Otherwise, your data’s gone.” Then came a knock at the door
Just as Jet spoke, Marvin’s speakers chirped. Bit’s voice (a surprisingly gentle, synthesized tone) said: “Threat neutralized. No payment required. Also, Jet, your ‘Platinum Shield’ has a known vulnerability in its PDF parser. Might want to patch that.” Tuttle
“Hello, Marvin. I see you renamed your ‘System32’ folder to ‘SYSTEM_THIRTY_TWO’ in 2007. Bold. Also, the virus is hiding in your screensaver file. Rookie mistake on their part.”
He laughed. “This thing? I burned this back when ‘free’ actually meant free.”
The end.
