Open File Explorer (shortcut: Windows Key + E ).
After formatting, type assign to give the drive a letter. format usb drive windows 10
Press Windows Key + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin) . Open File Explorer (shortcut: Windows Key + E )
Click Start . A warning message will appear: “Formatting will erase ALL data on this disk.” Click OK to confirm. Click Start

Type diskpart and press Enter.
Under Format options , check Quick Format unless the drive has known errors (then use full format by unchecking).
