The party was in Sam’s basement. String lights, glitter skulls, a piñata shaped like a torso. They’d just started playing “Thriller” for the third time when the back door crashed open.
Then Chloe grabbed a fireplace poker. Jade shoved the snack table over like a riot shield. Mia locked eyes with Sam and whispered, “Best party ever.” Moaning for real brains
