Kabir: You watching old movies at 2 AM again? My ears are burning.

Rohan had watched that scene with his own best friend, Kabir, a month before Kabir moved to Canada. They had been huddled over Rohan’s old, cracked phone, eating cold pizza, laughing at the dialogue before the tears came. They had promised to stay in touch. That was seven years ago. Rohan hadn't seen Kabir’s face in three.

The first pop-up: “Your iPhone has a virus! Click here to clean!” He closed it. The second pop-up: “Win a free trip to Dubai!” He closed it. The third pop-up was different. It was just a white box with black text: “Are you sure you want to watch this memory?”

And sitting on a charpoy, holding two beers, was Kabir. Exactly as he looked seven years ago. Same crooked smile. Same stupid haircut.

The screen went black. Rohan was back in his studio apartment. The laptop battery was at 2%. The URL in the address bar had changed from prmovies.show/dil-chahta-hai to a simple string of numbers: 7 years, 3 months, 12 days.
