Vespa & Awlivv — – Oral Encouragement

“One step,” Vespa breathed. “That’s all. Then another. You don’t need to see the whole beach. Just my voice.”

“Look at me,” Vespa said. Her voice was low, a steady rumble beneath the crash of waves. “Not the drop. Not the rocks. Me.”

She turned, offering her hand without looking back. Awlivv took it. And together, they began the descent—one step, then another—Vespa’s quiet encouragement weaving through every gust of wind until fear became just another sound beneath the sky. vespa & awlivv – oral encouragement

“I can’t,” she whispered, more to the wind than to herself.

“Good,” Vespa said, and the smile in her voice was a small, warm sun. “Now, let’s go find that water.” “One step,” Vespa breathed

“I move because I choose to,” Awlivv echoed, the words shaky at first, then firmer.

Vespa swung a leg off the scooter’s worn leather seat. She didn’t rush. She simply walked to stand in front of Awlivv, close enough that the sea salt mingled between them. With one finger, she tilted Awlivv’s chin up. You don’t need to see the whole beach

Awlivv’s eyes, glassy with fear, finally locked on. Vespa’s gaze was flint and honey—hard enough to hold, sweet enough to trust.
