Laughter ripples through the hall. Mary covers her face. Missy howls.
She sighs, grabs her keys. "Fine. But you owe me."
"I have video evidence," Sheldon says, holding up Missy's phone, "that the champion intentionally disrupted my audition with an unsanctioned harmonica intervention, which is a direct violation of WMA Bylaw 14, Subsection C: 'Deliberate auditory sabotage constitutes immediate disqualification.'"
George sits. For once, he doesn't joke. "You know, your mom and I—we don't always get the way your brain works. But you showed up. That's more than most people do."
Missy grins. "He's still a freak."
George Sr. lowers his paper. "Sheldon, you can't yodel."
